This beautiful Henry serial number 6464 has factory engraving about identical to Henry number 6065 shown on
page 36 of the "Winchester Book" by George Madis. It also shows strong similarities to  a number of other
Henrys in the Madis book. Other almost identical engraving examples are shown on pages 36 and 37 of
"Winchester Engraving" by R. L. Wilson. It displays the typical factory scroll and grape design on the sides of the
receiver with the addition of a pointing dog on the left side. The top of the receiver is also engraved as is the butt
plate. It was originally gold plated and a large amount of that plating remains. The stock wood is of fancy grade
walnut. The barrel address is sharp. The receiver tang, top stock inletting, barrel and butt plate all bear the
correct serial number. The barrel finish is a pleasing brown. A particularly beautiful factory engraved Henry
worthy of the most advanced collection.                                                                             Previously Sold.
